Cinta adalah kedamaian, marah adalah petaka. Cinta adalah konstruktif, sedangkan benci adalah destruktif. Cinta adalah cahaya, sementara benci adalah kegelapan. Cinta adalah kesemarakan, sedangkan dengki adalah kehancuran. Cinta membuka yang tertutup, sementara benci menutup yang terbuka. Cinta menggerakkan gunung dan bebukitan, sedangkan benci menghentikan perjalanan. Cinta menghidupkan yang mati, sementara benci mematikan yang hidup.

Cinta adalah energi yang luar biasa, lebih terang dari matahari, lebih jelas dari sinar, lebih cepat dari cahaya, dan lebih kuat dari nuklir. Cinta menciptakan berbagai mukjizat. Ia yang mengubah setan menjadi malaikat. Ia mengubah yang binal menjadi bayi yang tenang. Ia mengubah yang tidak dikenal menjadi pelita yang terang. Cinta adalah perasaan paling suci, paling luhur, paling bersih dan merupakan tujuan yang paling tinggi.

Sesungguhnya setiap aktivitas yang terjadi di alam raya ini bersumber dari rasa cinta. Entah dari rasa cinta yang terpuji nan suci maupun yang tercela karena nafsu. Setiap amal yang berhubungan dengan keimanan dan religius pasti bersumber dari rasa cinta yang terpuji. Dan cinta yang terpuji berasal dari Allah Swt.

Cinta tercela yang karena nafsu dan dibimbing iblis dan laskarnya, bukanlah termasuk cinta yang berasal dari keimanan. Dan ending dari semua itu adalah penyakit yang akan membawanya kepada siksa Allah Swt.

Tak ada lagi tingkatan setelah mahabatullah (cinta kepada Allah) kecuali buah dan hasil dari mahabbatullah tadi. Yaitu kerinduan, kelembutan, dan keridhaan. Begitu juga, tidak ada tingkatan sebelum mahabatullah selain pendahuluan-pedahuluannya, seperti taubat, sabar, qanaa’ah, zuhud dan akhlak mulia sejenisnya. Tetapi orang yang mencintai Allah (Al Muhib lillah) dan ingin menaikkan tingkatannya menjadi orang yang dicintai Allah (Al mahbub minallah), maka jalannya adalah melalui amal. Jadi iman dan amal shaleh adalah bagaikan dua sisi mata uang yang tak bisa dipisahkan.

Allah ingin kita mencintai-Nya, dan kita harus terus dan terus berusaha untuk mendapatkan cinta-Nya pula. Untuk itu kita perlu memohon pertolongan-Nya agar kita bisa sampai disana. Dalam hal ini Rasulullah mengingatkan kita dengan sabdanya, “Pada suatu ketika, Tuhanku mendatangiku dalam mimpi. Dia kemudian berfirman ‘Wahai Muhammad, katakanlah, Ya Allah, aku memohon kepada-Mu agar aku bisa mencintai-Mu, mencintai orang yang mencintai-Mu, dan bisa mengerjakan amal yang bisa membuatku cinta kepada-Mu.”

Jibril pun pernah menghadap kepada Rasulullah Saw seraya berkata : “Ketahuilah (wahai Muhammad) orang mukmin yang paling mulia adalah mereka yang beribadah (melakukan shalat) di malam hari. Sedangkan orang yang paling mulia adalah mereka yang tidak membutuhkan manusia,” (HR Tabrani). Tidak membutuhkan manusia dalam arti bukan melepaskan diri sebagai makhluk sosial, tetapi tidak mengeluh kepada manusia, sebaliknya selalu menjadi solusi bagi yang lain. Mudah-mudahan kita melakukan yang demikian itu, Amin.
